Acting Classes For Ages 10 and Older

Miami Childrens Theater is extremely pleased to welcome Ms. Madelin Marchant to our faculty. Madelin is one of South Florida’s most respected and experienced drama teachers, running the highly successful South Miami Middle School Drama Magnet program. Ms. Marchant’s track record of sending her students to great performing arts magnet high schools is unparalleled in the county and now Madelin is going to work her magic on MCT!  Madelins classes are every Thursday, with Theater Experience 1 running 4:30 to 5:30 pm and Theater Experience 2 running 5:30 to 6:30. Miami Childrens Theater prepares young people for admission to magnet schools, universities and main stage productions like no other theater company in South Florida. MCT’s faculty is comprised of working artists whose perspective in the classroom is “what works in the real world” versus textbook theory.  With workshops that range from how to put an audition book together to specifically honing in on the right song and monologue, Miami Childrens Theater will guide young thespians to excel in auditions and main stage productions A behind the scenes video of two of our principal teachers, Music Director Ana Flavia Zuim  and Lead Director Christine Vega, in action. MCT kids are everywhere. We feel their experience with us in both the classroom and performance arena prepares them for their secondary education like no other performing arts institution in South Florida.

 

Classes for students ten and older center on the improvement of technique, making advances in dance, perfecting the audition process and preparing you for the next level. Miami Childrens Theater offers affordable options to improving voice, acting, and dance. Master classes are designed to inform, inspire and educate. The classes range from introductory classes such as Teen Theater Experience for young adults just entering the world of drama to advanced dance level classes.
