Mainstage Junior l REGISTER Ages 6-13 Wednesdays 4:30-6:00pm Because Mainstage Junior is a fully realized play, this class starts January 25th and the rehearsal schedule is as follows: meets every Wednesday from 4:30 to 6 pm with exception of March 4 (Spring Break week) through April 4th. Students also must be able to commit to a “tech week” rehearsal schedule of: Saturday, March 31 from 12 to 5pm, Monday, April 2 4:30 to 6:00 pm, Tuesday, April 3 4:30 to 6:00 pm and Wednesday, 4:30 to 6:00 pm. The show will be Wednesday, April 4 at 7 pm. Miami Childrens Theater believes that no experience replaces the experience of working on a fully realized show. This class gives students the opportunity to learn the principles of acting, characterization, teamwork, memorization and scene study within a rehearsal and show setting. The Theater Experience II | REGISTER This is a 10 week course taught by special guest instructor Madelin Marchant, Drama Instructor at South Miami Middle School Miami Childrens Theater is thrilled to have Ms. Madelin Marchant teach our Theater Experience classes. Ms. Marchant has an unparralled track record of preparing students to “get to the next level” and is one of the most respected theater professors in South Florida. Theater Experience II is a continuation of the acting techniques and principles initiated in Theater Experience I. This class will further enhance a young actor’s stage presence, auditioning skills and helping the student make the transition from classroom to the main stage. Prerequisite: Student must complete Theater Experience I and be recommended for this class. Learn fun acting scenes, acting games, dancing and singing. This is a class for children just beginning to develop their acting skills, projecting techniques, memorization capabilities, and singing projection. Let’s Pretend! | REGISTER An introduction for children to theater, role playing and movement. Each week is a new adventure in play and creativity. Let us feed your child’s fertile imagination with theater games, crazy costumes, storytelling, funny dances, magic, music and more. Broadway Beginnings | REGISTER Broadway Beginnings class is a one-hour musical theater class that combines dancing, singing and acting. Join us for a creative nurturing and fun-filled song and dance experience especially for young children. PLEASE NOTE: First class starts on Saturday, January 20th!
Broadway Beginnings II| REGISTER Broadway Beginnings II is a natural successor to Broadway Beginnings – the class is a one-hour musical theater class that combines dancing, singing and acting. Broadway Beginnings II will feature a fully realized scene/act at the end of the session for parents to see. PLEASE NOTE: First class starts on Saturday, January 20th!

This is Miami Childrens Theater’s most popular course and is the perfect introduction for a young person to the world of theater. Students will learn the basic principles of Acting Technique including objectives/obstacles, given circumstances, inner monologue, sense memory, emotional recall, improvisation, professionalism, story dramatization, theater exercises and dramatic training designed to expand the imagination and to increase concentration and self-confidence. This is a foundation course for all future studies and may be repeated. Audition Technique | REGISTER Get ready to nail your next audition! This workshop based class will help you drive proper auditioning skills until you are brimming with audition confidence. You will craft your own resume, pick monologues and practice cold readings all with intensive feedback and guidance. Mainstage Productions | REGISTER At the Miami Childrens Theater you will find dedicated, talented, and supportive professionals who share a passion for great acting and the commitment to thrilling an audience. Fairytales and Fables | REGISTER Spark your child’s imagination with this acting class filled with make believe, heroes and heroines, princes, thieves and great adventures. Your child will act out and role play with some of their favorite stories and tales. Reinforce basic acting skills such as projection, characterization and stage movement. This class is a great way to get your budding actor to create and pretend while growing as a performer. Fee: JCC Members: $150
Private Lessons Audition Prep- Private Instruction | REGISTER Audition prep private lessons for both musical and straight theater: monologues, vocals, selection and preparation for auditions. Private Voice Lessons | REGISTER Miami Childrens Theater employs trained voice teachers with an emphasis on singing for Musical Theater. Private Lessons-Straight Theater | REGISTER Private lessons concentrating on monologues, movement, selection and techniques. Private Lessons-Musical Theater | REGISTER Instructor will work with student on song, monologue and dance.
