Miami Childrens Theater presents one of the most beautiful and romantic musicals of all time, Adam Guettel’s stunning THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA. THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA takes place in Italy in the summer of 1953. Margaret Johnson, the wife of an American businessman, is touring the Tuscan countryside with her daughter, Clara. While sightseeing, Clara-a beautiful, surprisingly childish young woman-loses her hat in a sudden gust. As if guided by an unseen hand, the hat lands at the feet of Fabrizio Naccarelli, a handsome Florentine, who returns it to Clara. This brief episode, charged with coincidence and fate, sparks an immediate and intense romance between Clara and Fabrizio.  Margaret, extremely protective of her daughter, attempts to keep Clara and Fabrizio apart. As THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA unfolds, a secret is revealed: in addition to the cultural differences between the young lovers, Clara is not quite all that she appears. Unable to suppress the truth about her daughter, Margaret is forced to reconsider not only Clara’s future, but her own hopes as well.  One of MCT’s most ambitious and breath-taking productions ever!

THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE is a hilarious tale of overachievers’ angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. The show’s Tony Award winning creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time. This is Miami Childrens Theater’s first “traveling” show with the first weekend at the Coral Gables Youth Center and at the JCC the next weekend!

Good Grief! Charlie Brown tickets are on sale!

Miami Childrens Theater is proud and pleased to team up with our friends at Pinecrest Gardens and present the completely delightful “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown!” This incredible production will be at the Banyan Bowl in Pinecrest Gardens on Friday, March 23rd at 8 pm, Saturday, March 24th at 2 and 8 pm and Sunday, March 25th at 2 pm. We have an all star cast – can you say Miguel Luciano as Snoopy and Jessica Darrow as Lucy – directed by Ron Headrick and a cool rock combo orchestra manned by Tevi Eber.
